Club Tweak

I tried a spin attack finale… seems to fit better!

What to say- it’s a guy swinging about a club!

A little more similar to the sword ones than i would have liked, but i can tweak/redo if i have a better idea of how to make it feel more “clubby” in the latter attacks… feels like the jump and slamdown at the end is a bit too athletic, but having trouble coming up with another good “finale” for it.
I’m pretty sure we won’t use combos for ranged weapons but I figured I’d have a go at one and see how it plays ingame… you can see I was kinda struggling to come up with something, and I still don’t really feel like I figured it out.

I’m guessing we won’t end up using it, but was still a fun experiment… The shot where he fires straight up was going to rain down a cluster of arrows around him.
Character doodle for another game we have in the works…

No new info or revelations regarding the face (sorry to get your hopes up), but our lump reconnaissance did uncover some pretty powerful Youtube videos by amateur Spacey Face enthusiasts.
Get a load of this little number put together by Cristina Tomé. It’s a powerful 5:29 of the kind of heartwarming zooming in on images of a face that really recreates the feelings I imagine you would get sliding in towards somebody’s actual face in person.
Really makes you think.
I kept finding the phrase “samurai megazord” repeating in my head while I was working… I had no idea what it was or where it came from but I was into it.
Now I discover it’s all because of these sweet sweet Zord ads playing constantly on foxtel that have been seeping into my subconscious while I work and gently teaching me about my enthusiasm for zords.
I’m clearly late to the party on these Zords… from what I’ve pieced together, I’m pretty sure I am enthusiastic about Super Samurai Action Zords, the Five Primary Zords, the Super Samurai Megazord, the Mighty Bull and Claw Megazords, and almost definitely the Mighty Samurai Gigazord.
If you want to learn more about your own enthusiasm for various Zords, I would suggest the following articles:

And I did the dagger tonight too…

Same kinda thing but for the regular sword…

I got sick of banging my head against those stupid god statue designs, so I’m taking a break and extending the anim sets for weapon combos

This is *almost* the longest combo with a 2-handed sword- going to have one mega attack right on the end that i haven’t decided on yet…
When you pick up gear, each weapon will have a “level”, so an L.3 sword can only do the first 3 attacks from the combo before you have a cooldown and start again, so the attacks basically get more damage and bigger hitboxes the further you get into the combo…
I’m thinking about some prop like a workbench or something you can find to upgrade/fix your gear- perhaps needing you to find the right ingredients to craft with etc- pretty standard fare, but i like the idea of doing that stuff in a super fast arcadey way
I’m having troubles designing these damn god statue thingies…

The design is that each player can put a little “token” at the feet of a specific god statue, and that will control both the way their monsters evolve, and what stats their hero gains when he goes up levels…
So there are four main gods- one associated with health, one with strength, one with dexterity and one with magic. Then there is a fifth which is a balanced random. So everyone’s token starts on the random. If you are a new player and you don’t know about the system, that’s fine, you’ll leave your token there and you’ll still upgrade just fine- it will choose randomly but spread them over all 4 so you don’t end up with a deficiency… but you will have no strong specialty either.
