Powerhoof! PowerSprite Animator...


I made a Unity Extension for editing sprite animations

We do a lot of sprite animation (well… Barney does) so I made a swanky tool to make it nicer to edit them in Unity!

It means we can edit animations without having to fiddle around with unity’s convoluted animation system that’s built for much more complicated 3d games. Also I realised making tools like this is really pretty fun!

        By the way, we TOTALLY need this teddy bear as a CRAWL monster. Like, a statue, most likely. All he does is give hugs, and displace the hero (preferably into traps or other monsters)- it would be hilarious.

  5. Can I also use this with Unity GUI (Canvas Renderer) or only with the default Sprite Renderer?

    • In the current version you can’t, but I have it working in an updated version i’m about to submit to the asset store. If you email with your invoice number I’ll send you a copy so you don’t have to wait for unity to approve the update 😉

  8. Hi! Love the product, it’s so painless compared to unity’s in-built! I can’t actually properly express how many hours of work this is going to save me and how delighted I am!

    I’m not sure if this is the right place to take this (If I don’t hear back, I’ll try email or whatever)- but Unity’s throwing up a lot of casual warnings about PS-A, but nothing build-breaking…yet? Should I be worried about this? Will a patch be coming?

    • Thanks Rex! Sorry I didn’t notice this comment until now. PSA’s just been updated to v1.5 so hopefully that fixes the warnings, but if not can you tell me what version of unity you’re using? I might need to check that version.

  10. This asset is triple A quality, life improving, excellent. I would buy it again if I could. I would pay more if I had to. Every pixel artist and frame animator working in unity needs this tool. If you haven’t gotten it the get it yesterday, if not sooner.

  11. Our artists often send us spritesheets containing sprites with different sizes and wild layout. Therefore, we often have to adjust the offset/position of single sprites for using them in an animation.
    It would be great and very helpful if you could provide a feature to do this in your tool.
    Further, it would be great to have multiple sprites per animation frame.
    I saw that some other guy on the asset store requested this too, so I strongly second this.
